Power point set up for projector

I am preparing for a presentation this week and when I
went to hook up up my Toshiba Lap top to the projector, I
got nothing.

Is there a special set up procedure that needs to be done
in the control panel first before I hook up my lap top?

Hi,

There will be a combination of keys on the laptop that will "force" the
image out. For my Dell, it is <Fn + F8>. You may need to refer to your
laptops documentation.

On the Toshibas I've worked with (both Satellite models), you plug the
projector into the external video port of the laptop then use Fn+F5 to cycle
among LCD-only, LCD+External, External-Only (and depending on the model,
perhaps one more stop for the TV-video out)
