Power Point resizing of excel object problem

PowerPoint 2002 SP2, Windows 2000 sp3.

I insert an object - excel worksheet, do a spreadsheet
with formula, etc.

When I move around the spreadsheet or change tabs to look
at backup data, PP changes size of excel worksheet on PP
slide.

When I am done and I get out of the object I have to
resize sometimes two different ways.

The first is with the object open in excel format I need
to expand so I can see all columns (some got hidden when
it resized smaller).

Then I also need to resize while the object is closed and
resize so it fits on the slide or resize bigger so it is
readable and not too small.

I don't want it to resize itself automatically. Is there
an option for this? Please help as this is on 25% of the
slides on all presentations and don't want to go through
this each time something needs to be modified.
