This is a bug in PPT 2002 -- Kiosk mode is broken and doesn't reset as it
should.

Chirag has a tool that will help, though. See

I've been using the PPT 2002 with Kiosk assistant successfully for nearly a
year. I'm running a PPS on an unattended kiosk 24/7. It has 90 slides with
navigation within the show. I've noticed that eventually PowerPoint detects
an error and quits. Sometimes it stops after only a few hours, sometimes I
stops after a day. Am I expecting too much?

No, but PowerPoint isn't always delivering what it promises. (That's a nicer way of
looking at it, I think; why blame yourself, after all? <g>)

It's a known problem that's never been pinned down well enough for MS to fix. When you
say it detect an error, does it actually throw a message box about it on screen (that
is, something with more detail than "Oooh, I feel sick. Gotta go ...")?

If so, can you post the exact text next time it happens?
