Hello.
I have one PPT file that can open only in my WS!!! (VERY ODD THING!!!)
when I try to double click it on another WS (that it identical to my
WS) Explorer is crashing down , when I try to open it from Power Point
itself - File ->Open the Power point crash down.
I try also to open it with Power Point XP , Doesn't Work !!!!
What seems to be the problem?!
I have Power point 2k on Win2k SP3.
The file isn't damaged because I can open it with one WS.

"WS" means "workstation," right?

Details needed: what OS on each machine, version of PPt on each, and maybe
the type of network.

Assuming that WS is work station (thanks John, I was scratching my head
there for a while)...

Are you trying to open the file over a network? PowerPoint doesn't like
that very much. Try making a copy of your presentation on the second
computer's hard drive (c:) and open that. Better?

I would guess (since all I have to do is wander around scratching my head a
lot of the day) that PowerPoint is much more interactive with it's source
file that most other programs. Therefore even a small PowerPoint file must
create huge amounts of network traffic when attempting to run a show from
another computer. Network access time is dead slow compared to hard drive
access time, so files will grind to a stop. Sound good to anyone else?
