Power Point Configuration

iS THERE ANY WAY i CAN USE WINDOWS XP TO CONFIGURE MY
SYSTEM TO RUN POWERPOINT AND WORD FOR WINDOWS. I HAVE
THE BASIC POWERPOINT FILES INSTALLED ON MY SYSTEM BUT I
GET A MESSAGE WHEN I TRY TO RUN IT THAT THE OPERRATING
SYSTEM IS NOT CONFIGURED TO RUN THE PROGRAM!

Al,
Did you install the programs? You can't just copy the related files on to a
machine, they have to be run through the installer.

PowerPoint and Word are applications that are purchased separately and are
part of the Microsoft Office Suite. They do not come with Windows XP, which
is your operating system. When you say that you have the basic PowerPoint
files on your system, did you install them from CD's that came with your
computer? Or were they pre-installed? What file are you trying to run?
 
The basics are you need MS Power Point XP and MS Word XP
to make PowerPoint and Word files on your XP operating
system.

If you only want to view and not produce PowerPoint files
then down load the free viewer for power point from the
Microsoft web site.
