Power point chart data doesn't reveal..help!

I am working with office 2007. Problem: when i make a chart on the power
point and save the file. Next time, if I go to file and try to open the data
sheet for the same chart to re-enter or edit data, it doesn't open. Thought
it shows it the option for edit data but it doesn't work. Can anybody help me
out?
 
If you open Excel first, does it work?

Have you appled SP1 for Office 2007?

Try running Diagnostics in Office Button | PPT Options | Resources.
