Microsoft Power Point Can't Start the application required to open this object.
An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly, would
like to repair this feature now?

Hi,

I guess we need more details. What version of PowerPoint and what were you
doing when this happened? Editing an organisation chart? Some other thing?

I get this same message when I try to edit a chart. When I double-click on it
or choose to edit the chart from the menu, I get this message. I found a
tech page on the microsoft site that says to remove fonts and removie msoclip
and mso..something else I can't remember, but when I looked for those files
in my Windows folder, i don't have them. I'm running Windows XP professional
and Office 2003. The chart editing program used to work fine, and I don't
know what changed. I've tried reinstalling, but no good. Have anyone been
able to find the answer to this problem? Thanks so much!!!

When I ran into this exact issue. I had to open the program the chart was
trying to use, which was MS Excel 2003 I had to then turn off an add-in in
Excel under tools..add-ins. The one that caused it in my case was a program
called XLCubed...a third party add-in. Check excel for add-ins and see if
that helps. I guess the add-in is preventing MS powerpoint from opening
excel to edit the chart.
