It's probably a bad idea, because it will wipe the HD and
install the version of Windoze for your machine along
with all the drivers and stuff specifically for it. Also,
that shows why a UPS is a very good investment than some
stupid $25 Monster Power surge protector which doesn't
even really work very well in the first place. I just
can't tell you how happy I am with my APC XS 1000 UPS.
And my other old 300. They're the reason I almost never
have any trouble with my computers. Tell your friend to
go out and buy one. You too, if you don't have one. Sure,
the initial $149 seems like a lot , but it CAN save you a
hell of a lot more in repair costs.
P.S: Don't be duped into buying a CyberPower or Fellowes
or any other off-brand UPS. APC is the best. Don't accept
anything less!
