I've had this clean install of XP Pro running for about a
month now and I continue to have the same problem...
Power Options, from the control panel, fails to shut down
the monitor after the specified period of time.

Occiasionally, after a reboot it will shut down the
monitor a few times throughout the day and then go back
to it's old trick of leaving the monito on.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Greg

It might be worthwhile downloading the XP patch which
allows the PC to shutdown properly. I know this is to fix
the shutdown issues of PC's but it wouldn't harm in
trying this for your monitor.

There isn't a single XP Pro update that I haven't
downloaded and installed.

Any other thoughts?

Greg

It's possible that you are using a screen saver that
utilizes direct x. 3D text is one of these. I know that
with WinXP, if you use one of these savers, the monitor
will not shut down.
