Power options problem

The power options on my Sony lap top PCG-9NM are set to stand by when the lid is closed.
However when the lid is reopen the machine starts up but the internet connection is disabled. The computer has to be restarted to restore the connection.
I have tried other settings in the power options but to no avail.

My lap top is connected to the internet through a wireless network!

Any suggestions?

This problem occurs because the media connect action is not sent to the Wireless service correctly.

Won't take too long to fix ... but do what we normally do ... restart.

I tried this but still not working.
It's not that the connection is being shown as unavailable, it is unavailable!!!!!!!!
