Power Option when on UPS

I lost my power and went over to UPS. My screen blacked out and I thought
the system shut down.

I tested today, by pulling the power cord and it when on battery (UPS). The
screen did black out.

Is there a way to leave the screen on?

I am guessing the monitor is not supplied via the UPS.
