Win2k pro + updates, Asus A7N8X DLx bios updated, Asus5200 nvidia unified
v4.24 graphics v56.72, Sata mirror raid.
For some time the Win ACPI, monitor shut down has not functioned, I used to
be able to restore it by ammending pwr settings, but this no longer has any
effect.
PC, desktop, is allways on, screen saver mode ok. Have not been able to pin
it down to any particular update.
Any thoughts?

I have had this problem with every Windows 2000 installation I have ever
deployed. After a period of time (anywhere from 2 weeks to 12 months) the
power management just stops functioning. It's close to 100% of all our
installations (including mine at home.) I haven't found anything on
Microsoft's site regarding this issue or a fix.

I have recently experienced the same problem. Still looking for a solution.
I have three machines, the first one - the monitor power down never worked,
second machine - just stopped working, third machine - it works as
advertised. Machines 1 and 3, same computers except for the video cards.

Have posted twice for help for what amounts to the same problem. My system
has lost auto standby after about a year. No one has volunteered any help!

The only consistent thing I've noticed about this problem is that it seems
to happen much more frequently after a reboot in which I scheduled a CHKDSK.
Sometimes if the power management stops working on a machine I can have the
user reboot to make it start working again, but if a CHKDSK is scheduled it
does not fix it, and if a CHKDSK is scheduled on a machine where PM works,
it may make it stop working.
