Power management not working in RC1?

I am running 32bit RC1 build 5600. I previously had the July CTP installed
(don't remember the build number). With the July CTP, power management
worked. The hard disk spun down, display shut off, computer went to sleep,
etc, etc, on schedule.

After a clean install of RC1 however (installed to a new Windows folder),
power management does not seem to work anymore. I have tried different plans
with default and changed advanced settings. The only thing that seems to
happen is the hard disk spinning down (from the sounds I hear). The display
does not turn off and the computer does not go to sleep. Nothing has changed
with my hardware or BIOS settings between the July CTP and RC1.

I am running exactly the same build as Kan... I have te same problem! I
noticed it when the battery power level fell below the critical setting (ie
10%) and the computer does NOT shut down as set to do! In fact it waited
until the battery showed 0% then just "died"

Interesting. I have the Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse 6000 with
receiver 3.0A, and I am running Vistal Ultimate which includes media center
components - even though I am running it on a PC with no TV/capture cards.

But it worked in the July CTP..... and is broken in RC1......
Oh Well, the sleep button seems to work most of the time so I will just use
that instead.

Power management is not working correclty on my PC either. Monitor will not
power off (just goes blank)

After installing SETI, The system will not resume after blanking the screen.
I can tell the HDD is still active.

RC1 handles resources very poorly. :(

Sorry for the delay in responding... No I am using a laptop, all on it's own!
Just upgraded to RC2 and still the problem exists!

Hi, I have the same problem on my HP NC6400 T7200 cpu, running build 5744
(RC2). But I also see that my CPU is running on 2GHz, even in "powersawer"
mode. I have about 2 hours of batt.time. On XP Pro i had 4 - 5 hours...

Anyone have the same?
