Installing a new Intel 875 board and I'm having problems getting the power
LED to work. I got the HD LED with some effort.

There seems to be two choices here: one is the two pins on the front nine
pine connector or the two pins on the three pin power LED connector. Since
the case connection only fits on the three pin connector, I have tried that
to no avail. Is there a way to convert the three pin connector to a two pin
connector?

What I normally do is cut VERY carefully with a craft knife along one side
of the plug. If you shave off just the plastic side you can then remove
the metal insert and transfer it to the empty centre slot. Then shave off
the rest of the empty slot to make the plug the correct width. HTH

i had the same problem and cut the connector in half as suggested in the
previous post

Have you tried reversing the plug around? In other words reversing it and
trying it in both directions. That is an LED and will not light up if the
polarity is wrong.
