I've bought my wife a Kodak EasyShare Photo Printer 500 and I want to
shorten the power cable because, with all the other peripherals on my desk,
it is like a spiders web.

Question is: what do the two factory fitted dongles do on the output side.
Does it make any difference to the supply or is it just a straightforward
6.v dc. or whatever.

I ask as a precaution before taking a knife and fork to it and finding out I
should have asked first :-)

I suspect you are referring to the ferrite beads, a large "bump" in the
cable. This provides suppression for RF noise. I would not remove
these (or cut the cable shorter). I would suggest dressing the cable
neatly with cable ties.

Thanks Bob, I'll leave well alone.
