Power consumption on various versions and revisions of Athlon 64

I'm thinking of getting an Athlon 64, maybe the 3000+ or 2800+

I prever lower wattage both to save power, and to run quieter
(fewer/slower fans).

Looking at wattages

I am confused among the terms "Revision CG", "Clawhammer," and "Newcastle."

I assume that nice little 50W 1.8GHz model is a "Mobile" chip, correct?

And then on newegg.com I see a 35W, 1.2V 2800+ (1.8Ghz?) model

whereas all of them on the chart are at least 1.3V.

All of them, including the Mobile models, are apparently Socket 754, so
are they all compatible with every Socket 754 motherboard?
(I look at the available voltages on a desktop motherboard and see
"Normal, not adjustable" so perhaps not.)

Also are Mobile chips slower, e.g. is a "Mobile 3000+" slower than a
"3000+"? It's hard to find benchmarks of the Mobile chips where they
compare directly to desktop chips.

Basically I just want to know what are the lowest 2800+ or 3000+ Athlon
64 that will work in a desktop model, and how to ask for them.
