POW! v158 troubles

pow is killing the browser (IE5) as well as the ads!

this just started recently after **months** of pow working superbly with IE5.

i reinstalled pow and it still kills my browser.

i have searched the web with no luck in finding a solution.

any suggestions?? (short of uninstalling/reinstalling IE from windows or
reinstalling windows itself)(i **really** want to keep using both of these
apps)

Been there, done that.

Check the list of windows that are being killed. There is probably an item
whose name resembles what's on your browser when it starts. Delete that
item and your problem should disappear. If not, keep deleting items until
it does start again.

You could try uninstalling ie from add/remove programes where you should
then be given an option to repair IE rather than uninstall it.Just wondering
why you havenT got IE6 yet? as its un upgrade to IE5.Also you may wish to
consider installing MYIE2 which uses the IE engine but has loads more
options including tabbed browsing as well as a good built in Ad/Pop up
blocker

With me it was definitely some web page that I barred that had an
address starting with some non-alpha characters - forgotten which
ones. It caused all windows to be shut!!

Look for namse in the kill list that start with odd characters and
remove them.
 
was to change the title in ie "title bar"

something which i wouldnt have thought of but fore your responses!!!

i hadnt got ie6 because ie5 seems to do everything i want

sorry for the double post. got new provider and there is a greater lag in
confirming my post than the last provider
