potential conflict notice on start up.

I installed a cd writer programe that has some potential conflict problems with win xp and have now un installed it. the result is that on starting up a notice appears stating there is a potential conflict . the conflict is the driver that was installed but windows prevented from completeing the installation. the driver is there but I cannot remove it . any suggestions?

Which CD Writer program?
Try uninstall instructions from manufacturer's web site...
