I recently purchased a Brother HL-5250DN printer. I use Mac OS 10.2.8.

The printer had Postscript Emulation on the box. We're a weekly
newspaper and I like to output 65 line screen halftones. Well, it
doesn't seem possible to set the line screen on this "Postscript" printer.

I would suggest taking Brother's Postscript claims with a grain of salt.

It doesn't say Postscript. It says Postscript emulation. That's number
1.

Number 2, it is not a REQUIREMENT of any Postscript implementation that
the Postscript-capable printer have any option for setting the line
screen within the printer itself. If that's a REQUIREMENT for you, you
should have done some more homework.

What happens when you specify a 65 line screen out of Quark to this
printer?

Where did you get the idea that every printer capable of ingesting a
stream of Postscript code have the capability to set a default line
screen via the control panel?
