I've been pounding my head against the wall installing a Dell 5100cn
color laser printer (rebranded Xerox) on my print server (win2k
server). It installs fine. I can print from the server. However, I
can not get it to install on client machines (win2k pro). If you print
to the printer using the PS3 driver, the application that you are
printing from crashes. If you right click on the printer (on the
client machine) you get this error "function address 0x78014ac caused
protection fault. (exception code 0xC00005) Some or all property pages
may not be displayed. Turns out the "all" option in the error code is
the result. Dell is not of much help. Is there an issue with
postscript 3 and win2k? I can install the printer on the client machine
as a local printer using tcp/ip port and everything works fine. But, I
have 250 users to support. I would prefer to serve this printer.
