Any way to remove a post once it's been posted here?

Made the mistake of using my actual address.. DON'T USE
IT!! Recieved 15 virus emails in but a few hours.

:-(

Dodo -

That's like trying to remove pee from the swimming pool. You'll have to
just start using a dummy address now, and hope you don't get much more
spam. After five years of near spamless posting, I've had to doctor my
own email address.

...simple.. empty the pool, then re-fill it!

Some kind soul, the moderator of this forum perhaps might
suggest to their superiors at Microsoft an action plan for
masking all email addresses posted.. in fact why even post
them?

(gasps at the amount of spam awaiting this morn)

any consolation i'm in the same boat - all the spams come
from microsoft-looking addresses, and are about 142k
each.

I'm in the same boat with you all. On busy days, up to
250 e-mails reach me all containing the famous W32 worm
virus.

I am lucky that my provider (skynet in Belgium) is
actually intercepting all infected attachements before it
reaches my in-box, so all I get is short messages from
the provider notifying me of the receipt of the message.
But still, it's a few hundred notifications per day.

Microsoft has an e-mail address available to its
customers to report abuse of their company name in these
types of activities. This address
is "(e-mail address removed)".

All I can suggest is that we massively start sending
requests to that e-mail address to request the masking
functionality on all of the newsgroups (I got my problem
on the Belgian version of this newsgroup ...).

I have the experience that they do read and respond to
the messages on that e-mail address ...

Shall we give it a try ?
