I'm in the same boat with you all. On busy days, up to
250 e-mails reach me all containing the famous W32 worm
virus.
I am lucky that my provider (skynet in Belgium) is
actually intercepting all infected attachements before it
reaches my in-box, so all I get is short messages from
the provider notifying me of the receipt of the message.
But still, it's a few hundred notifications per day.
Microsoft has an e-mail address available to its
customers to report abuse of their company name in these
types of activities. This address
is "(e-mail address removed)".
All I can suggest is that we massively start sending
requests to that e-mail address to request the masking
functionality on all of the newsgroups (I got my problem
on the Belgian version of this newsgroup ...).
I have the experience that they do read and respond to
the messages on that e-mail address ...
Shall we give it a try ?
