I am trying to figure out using front page how I can allow coaches access to
input their teams scores giving each team individual access so they can only
update their teams information. currently I have to track and input
everything and I am trying to find a way to make it easier. I was thinking if
I coudl put it into an access database. I really have no clue how to do this.

You can use the database results wizard, using a form to submit the results.
www.frontpagewiz.com has a tutorial on using the DRW, using a guestbook type
example (I think) but I'm sure you can then adapt it to your requirements.

If you also want to password protect the (input form) page(s) then this site
might help also:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;825498
and related articles:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;301554
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;825451

These are short "how-to's" for protecting a page using FP 2000-FP2003 (use
the method to suit your version).
These require windows servers. If on Linux, check with your host if they
offer any means for password protection, or for setting up a database and
form (for the baseball results) if they don't support Access. Your hosting
account control panel might enable you to configure the 'htaccess' options
to provide simple password protection.
