It might be helpful if you placed a comment somewhere on the discussion site,
that pop-ups need to be disabled (temporarily, if need be) in order to post a
question. I spent more than 15 minutes (56K modem!) struggling with the site
before I decided to try turning that IE feature off. In typical MicroSoft
fashion and error occurs, but not an iota of help is given to help the user
figure out what (if anything) went wrong.

If you have Outlook Express (comes with Windows) you might want to access the
news server directly. Click on
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.powerpoint and it will set up an
account in OE and will take you there, I mean here. <G>

Good suggestion; unfortunately, we're all just civilians here; volunteers, not
MS employees, and we have no control over the site.

You might want to post your suggestion here, though:

Contact Microsoft: Use MSWish to request features, report problems, etc.

I'm sorry you had problems, Dave, but thanks for reporting them. I've
emailed your suggestion to the MS crew in charge of the web interface.
Hopefully we can get some well-placed instructions there to save others the
hassle you just experienced.
