insert a photo that the color is just totally messed up it doen't seem to
happen every time or with every photo these files are jpegs ranging from 1.3
to 4.5 megs. Could color space do this?

A 1.3MB jpg is a HUGE file. Trim your jpgs down to a reasonable size and the
posterization will disappear.

http://www.powerpointbackgrounds.com/powerpointgraphics.htm gives good info
on sizing images for screen.

are these images from a digital camera?
It could be that they are exif 2 jpgs, they have extra information in
them..right click them and click properties, do you see lots of extra
information, in most cases you do see some info and it doesnt mess them up.
Exif 2 was only used by a few brands like fuji

One way of telling if this is the problem is the images colors look inverted
The only to correct was to resave the images in a program such as photoshop
or photoeditor which strips out the exif summary
they fixed the problem in 2003 and it didnt happen in 2000

lost?
