I don't see the post on the three binary servers I am currently
monitoring. On my main server the group is empty; groups with all
encompassing names often end up as dumping grounds and get discarded
by servers after a while.

I do hope you didn't post it as a single 600 MB file...?

Several attachments in one post, kind of like in email.

Thought so. :-)

Usenet doesn't work like that (nor does email). You have to split the
file and post multiple messages that the downloader then rejoins. Look
to split to no more than about 15MB.

Your 600MB 'one post' will have been bloated up by encoding overheads
to around 800MB and will have been thrown away by most (all?)
servers. And the likelihood of a file that size arriving anywhere on
usenet without losing a few kb here or there is close to zero,
rendering it useless.

And you need to post to a more appropriate group.

A bit of time on Google looking for 'binary usenet posting' (or
similar) should give you the info you need to get you going - and test
your knowledge first in alt.binaries.test (or similar) before posting
to a proper group.

If you then need further help, post back ...
