Upgraded to XP Pro from Me on Sunday afternoon,
immediately got the Welchia Worm. FixIt patch from
Symantec on CD-ROM cleared up the problem, and I installed
the XP Patch. However, the system is still running MUCH
too slow. What shall I try now? Please help! Thank you!

Hi

Well done on deleting the Welchia Worm. What is running slowly? Access to programs - programs themselves?

Hi! Everything, actually. Takes 1-2 minutes for clicking
the Start button to result in the Start menu opening.
Also WAY slow on min/maximizing or closing windows...just
overall, very putzy and slow. Any ideas?

I'll give those a try...I re-ran the Worm tool as
instructed by Symantec, and they said I'm clean as a
whistle, but something clearly isn't right. Anything else
I should try after the spyware?

Hi

Are you sure that you got rid of the Welchia Worm
**completely**? Try either/both of the following programs
to check for spyware:
Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://security.kolla.de

I don't know if this will help you but I ran "defrag" and it made mine run a
lot smother.
