I have an A7N8X Deluxe board on which I have disabled the annoying
voice POST reports. Yesterday, with about ten days of uptime on the
machine, I happened to turn on the external speakers and the voice was
endlessly telling me there was "no CPU installed...no CPU
installed...no CPU installed...", you get the idea. I had to cold boot
it to get it to stop, so when the machine came up I went into the bios
and damn if the voice POST options (there are two that must be
unchecked) were indeed unchecked. This thing is alive...
All I've done differently lately is run xmms once. Otherwise the only
sound apps I use are gnome-cd, realplayer and tuxracer; all of these
and I've never had this happen since I first unchecked those options.
Is there a safe way to remove this (wav?) file from the bios?
That "woman" is so annoying...
