We installed SP4 over SP3 on a Win2k Server machine. Since that time we are
unable to access any network and or internet connections. IE seems as though
it is trying to connect, but the progress bar gets to about 50% and thats
all she wrote. The progress bar never moves again. The IE session is
responsive, but will not access any website, including the windows update
site. Going to a command prompt and typing 'ping www.yahoo.com', the cursor
goes to the next line, but nothing happens. No time outs just a blank line.
It is almost as though the request never leaves the machine. Incoming
connections don't appear to have a problem, but outgoing connections never
appear to leave the system.
Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. BTW, the SP4 install
can not be rolled back on this machine.
