Post Connecting with XP

I am using XP SP1 and would like to automate my analog dial-in connection
(ie: I want to specify a username and a password for a connection). The
intent is to clone a master environment. Therefore it won't be possible for
my users to create the connection themselves.

The way to do it was through the SWITCH.INF file and specifying to use a
script in the Securit tab of the connection. Unfortunately it is not working
with some providers and they are not giving much help.

When I use HyperTerminal to check what the prompts are (ie: login and
password) I am getting unreadable characters. I guess there is some kind of
encryption.

Any ideas without using SWITCH.INF?

Thx

Tried CMAK but could not find where username and password could be
specified.

Tried your suggestion. Worked ok for username and phone number. Eventhough I
am writing the password in clear text in the "Password=" item of the cms
file the password field is not pre-filled when dialing and I have to manualy
enter the password, which I do not want.

Hi Bruno,

After you've modified any of the .cms / .cmp files, have you re-run cmak and
're-compiled' your profile ?

(Apologies if you know/have done this already)

Yes I did. May be we cannot pre-configure a password (which constitues a
security risk since it is in clear text - I agree). If this is the case then
CMAK is of no use to me, unfortunately.

Final word: it is a bug in CMAK. Look at MS article nb 280478.

Any other idea?
