Sixth time I've posted this problem. If you Microsoft
people don't have the answer just tell me.

Just to re-repeat, here is the problem... I have windows
xp sp1. Windows Messenger will load for the two "limited
account" users on my computer -- but not for me, the
computer administrator. It does not appear in the task
bar and when I click on it, the hour glass pops up
briefly then nothing happens. I get NO error messages.
Funnily enough, "MSMSGS.exe" shows up as running as a
process when I go into the task manager. I've tried
reinstalling it, but to no avail.

Interestingly, when I change one of the "limited
accounts" to a computer administator, the same thing
happens -- windows messenger does not load.

I have McAFEE, not NORTON ANTI-VIRUS. Maybe McAfee is
the problem...

Anyone have any suggestions? I am at wit's end.

I too have posted questions many times without a response
though my problem is not yours i am just saying that I
agree. If the poeple in the newsgroup don't have a
solution just tell me rather then ignoring me. Not to
mention microsoft should not send me here if my questions
are overlooked.

So, you want HUNDREDS of people flooding the newsgroup just to say " I
can't help you"??????

If I don't have a possalbe answer to a question, I skip it rather then
waste bandwidth just to let you know that I don' tknow.

Listen "David", there's no need to be rude, vulgar or an
immature idiot. You should learn a little about courtesy
and manners. Read my posts. At least I know how to
conduct myself in a newsgroup. My posts have all been
polite. I know exactly what a newsgroup is, I don't need
some infantile know-it-all to explain anything to me.

I paid a lot of money for my computer and for Windows
XP. The least that I should expect is for a product that
works. It doesn't. I quite politely have asked six
times. At no time have I been rude. The fact is that
the Microsoft people respond selectively to queries.
They seem to ignore you when they don't know the answer.
I think I'm entitled to hear from them whether they know
about why their products are screwing up. If they don't
know, they should just tell me.

As for your solution to my computer problem, no that's
not it. My solution for your psychological problems:
GROW UP.

Thank you for your post. I'll check what you've
suggested. I have to say that I was not aware that
Microsoft MVPs are volunteers, and I do appreciate that
they are probably inundated with requests. I think my
frustration is (and should be) directed toward Microsoft
itself. But when you represent yourself as representing
Microsoft (i.e. "Microsoft MVP"), you have to expect that
you will bear the brunt of the anger of people who have a
product that does not work. The bottom line is that
Microsoft is making a lot of money, and their products
should be a little less susceptible to every software
quirk. I get a little annoyed when people like David
suggest that I should be "paying" for something I've
already paid for.

Lets see how am I suppose to know you read my question. I
don't all i feel is that i am overlooked and ignored. If
you look st the question it's not hard to post saying you
don't know. Also I am not asking for everyone on here to
post just those who are here on behalf of microsoft for
example Johnathan, would it be so hard to say sorry I am
unaware of a way to fix this try doing some more searches
and possibly give this guy a e-mail who might know how to
fix it.
