When system is going to shutdown, I want to receive an Alert. Whats
configuration is required for this requirement. When system is going to
Shutdown means "Manual Shutdown".

It's only going to shutdown (manual shutdown) if you tell it to shut
down, then it tells you it's shutting down. What more of an alert do
you need? If it shuts down without being told to do so you probably
have a virus. Or maybe you are talking about a remote pc on a network?

With "Audit account logon events category" you can have the Security Log
record logon and logoff events. Then have third party software send an
alert when events 551 and 552 occur in the security log. I don't think
that Windows 2000 can do "Real-time event log alarms". Also, according
to Randy Franklin Smith "Unfortunately Windows does a horrible job of
logging logoff events. So there is no good way at all to get a good
record of when users logoff." (

)

It seems that third party tools might be the best way of achieving what
you want. I can't recommend any in particular but you can start your
search here:

Or do a net search for "Event Log Alert", "Event log monitoring" or
"event log watcher"

Also, this wont tell you if the workstation has been shutdown, just that
a user logged off.
