Hi, I should probably explain further what I'm looking for.
I work for a local government department which looks after the interests of
young people in a borough of London. My job is to provide IT services and
solutions for the kids in the various centres, and also the managers,
supervisors and youth workers in the centres too.
My problem is basically stopping those kids who like to quietly disrupt from
hacking, running p2p file sharing programs and generally messing with the
settings of the PC's. Especially as they are also used by more responsible
groups for learning.
Most of the centres have small XP pro peer networks with a firewalled DSL
connection to the internet.
I'd heard of a PCI device that can automatically re-set the OS to a state
that has been pre-determined by the network administrator as soon as the
machine is shut-down and re-started. I haven't been able to track it down as
yet and wondered if anyone here knew of anything.
I know about system restore but it isn't automatic, and I can't be in all of
the centres all of the time.
Are there any better ways of restricting what users can and can't do with XP
pro in workgroup mode?
If anyone here has any advice or could point me in a better direction I
would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Doug.
