Possible to force Win2k to see disks as NTFS formatted?

Is there any way to force Windows 2K AS to interpret a disk as NTFS?

We had a RAID hardware crash which spontaneously changed the logical
drive formats from NTFS to RAW. That is, the system still sees the
disks on the RAID but interprets them as RAW. Is there any way to force
the system to see the disks in their original format?

Thanks!

hi,

it is possible to recover the raid volume, just make sure you haven't
run chkdsk, this corrupts the file structure.

you've got two options, 1 is to send it to a professional data recovery
company, 2 is to DIY it, i had the same problem on monday, one of our
drives failed and subsequently knocked out another drive which crashed
the os and then the array went from ntfs to RAW.

we've gone for the 1st option, as we lossed over 300GB of data and
didn't want to risk DIY'it.

we're using ontrack data recovery and they're fairly confident you can
do it.

www.runtime.org have a program called raid reconstructor, i think the
program reads the parity infomation from the drives and re-constructs
them onto another drive, i think this is similar to what ontrack do.

hope you get your data back.
best of luck.
