Possible to back up emails?

I need to do a full system recovery on my computer and that will reset
everything back to how it was when I bought it. I have some important emails
and contact information that I'd like to back up though. Is there a way to
back up my emails and contact info on to an external drive, then reinstall
Outlook on my computer, and then transfer that information back? Thanks.

This is Mani from India,
yes there is way to backup all your mail, contacts, calender appointments in
a single file.
Plz follow these steps --

Open outlook
--> Click on Import and Export
--> Select Export to a file
--> then select in Personal folder file (.pst)
--> then clikc on next.
-->Highlight Personal folder on top of the list - .
-->Check the box - Include sub folders and then clcik on Next
- Click on browse select the location where you want to save/backup.
- Select donot export duplicates.
- Click next - dont set any password for the backup pst file.
- click Finish.

the file is backedup in PST formatt.

If stil any issues mail to me - (e-mail address removed)
