Possible results of renaming a field?

Hi Experts,

I was wondering if I altered the name of a table field in A2000, how far
would it automatically be carried within the mdb? In a better wording; I'd
like to know if I will have to sift through the code, forms, reports,
queries to apply this name change or would Access do at least a sizeable
part of it?

Thanks in advance,

Alp

you can use FindName (it's on the Tools section) of my site; but as
Nikos says, there is no replace.

My memory tells me that a product named SpeedFerret should do something
close to what you want.

Hi Doug,

I did a trial run with Ucora's utility only to find. Yes it does find but
the problem is you can't really tell it what to find/replace exactly. I am a
bit scared to use it since I might end up in a big mess as a result of
unintended replacements.

It may not be appropriate but I'll ask it anyway; between SpeedFerret and
Find/Replace9, which would be your choice and why?

Thanks in advance.

To be honest, I've never even looked at the Ucora utility (and I usually
have a warning to that effect in my standard cut-and-paste response)

I've used Find & Replace for years, and am happy with it. I got it because
it was cheaper. Since then, I've been given a copy of Speed Ferret, and I
hate to admit it, but I've never been able to use it effectively! However, I
know many others who swear by it, so it's doubtlessly user error in my case!
