I had updated a friends computer, and now cannot get it to
boot at all. From reading a number of the postings here,
I suppose that it could be the KB835732 update, but I
can't even get onto Windows 2000 to try removing it. I
can, however, load to a command prompt by using boot
disks. Is there an easy way for me to remove this from
the system from the prompt? Even if it isn't easy, if
someone could help, that would be great!

look back on the community board you will find how to do
it... you will need to reboot in safe mode "f8" and boot
and then go to control panel- software removal- pick
components and remove kb835732.... better details around
the 1st of may on com-board...

Thanks for the thought, but I can't load in safe mode
either....would be much easier if I could.

Anyone know what to do from a command prompt?

If you can boot to a command prompt, navigate to the winnt
directory and there should be a sub-direcory with a name
of *kb835732* (files may be compressed). There is a text
file there or in one of the sub-directories called
spuninst.txt. This file lists all the replaced files. This
path also has all the old files wich were replaced by the
install proceedure. If you edit the spuninst.txt file and
create a 'bat' file, you should be able to copy back all
the old files and your macine should then restart normally.
