Possible fix for windows Installer errors

Would reinstalling windows resolve my problems with the windows installer
service? I know it takes a while, there is only one problem with that, I dont
recall how to uninstall and then reinstall windows xp, help please.

Try doing a repair install first. Boot from the XP CD and opt to do a
repair.

Depending on what the problems are, you could start here instead of doing a
full or repair installation.
