Possible Conspiracy?

From all I've read about "Trusted Computing" I get the slight suspicion that
there might be something in it for software and hardware manufacturers
to ratchet up public fears about viruses and such, even to the point of
creating them themselves to create a "crisis." I'd be interested to hear
opinions on this topic.
