I have found a possible bug in text animation.

Some animations do not work when there is only one word in a bullet during
animation.

Am I buggy or what? :-0

Have an example in a very small file (55kb), is it possible to upload it or
something...

Could you give us a little more detail so we can try to duplicate your
report on our systems?

What version of PowerPoint, what animations, how triggered, what layout, all
the time or just sometimes? We're always interested in bazaar stuff (our
nature, I assume) but we'd like to be able to see how it happens. Usually
uploads and such are a bad idea, since malicious people out there sometimes
do nasty things to files.

Sorry I posted twice, it said there was an error...

In PowerPoint 2003 I animated a 4 line bullet with a timed "ease in" fast
command and a fade 5 seconds later. The one word bullet in the middle did a
different animation until I changed it to 2 words... Two different machines
had the same result.

Oh well...

It seems to work fine here, if I understand what you are doing. You can send
the file to me if you like. Send it to sonia at sign soniacoleman dot com.

I received the file, Mike. Actually, it's not the number of words, but the
total length of the word or words. If you use a single very long word it will
work as expected. You can use three short words like "it is a" and you'll see
the same thing you are experiencing with one short word. You seem to be right
about a bug, but maybe there is some MS logic here that neither you nor I can
fathom. <G>

If the bullet item is short, it flies in slow from left. If it's long enough it
eases in from right.

Use these bullet items and you'll see what I mean:

- Farm
- Cow
- Horse
- The above look different than this one

For everyone else, the animation settings are:
1. Ease In
2. Effect: No sound, Don't Dim, Animate text All at once
3. Timing: With Previous, no delay, fast, no repeat
4. Text Animation: All paragraphs at once.
