Is there a website with escape codes etc. for most commonly used POS
(recipient) printers?

I am often having troubles installing printers, since customers have
printers, which don't work according to the manual, which was included
to the printer.

Take a look at the printer settings in the OS. I used to have to be
careful to change them to get old impact printers to work. It was a real
PIA at times.
