Merlin

I just ran a scan Port and found that I have a couple of
Ports opened, one of them being Port 5000. Is there a way
to close that port among other ones too? Your feedback
will be greatly appreciated.

Greetings Merlin,

Port 5000 is for Universal Plug and Play (UPnP). You can't really "close" ports in
(Internet) applications as they're designed to open them. However, you might want to turn on
Windows XP's built-in Internet Connection Firewall (ICF). To do so, click Start, then click
the Control Panel. If you're in category view click Network and Internet connections then
click Network Connections. Right click your network/internet connection, then click
Properties. Click the Advanced Tab, and verify that the Internet Connection Firewall is
checked.

You can also use a third-party firewall like ZoneAlarm:
