XPP have a system that asign some equipment that is connected to the USB also
a com-port nummer. When you attach more and more equipment the com-port
nummer gets higher and higher. Is there any way to check out what
com-port-nummer the computers memory have asigned to a specified equipment.
Is there any way to change that.

Problem is that the GPS-device nedd a converter from com to USB. When
installing that converter to USB the computer asign it to com-port 12. The
navigational program configuration is only abla to work up to com-port number
9.

You can check port assignments using msinfo32. Just click start and run, then
type "msinfo32." You can force devices to use specific ports using the device
manager. Right-click 'my computer' click 'properties,' click the 'hardware'
tab, click the 'device manager' button, double-click on a device, and one of
the tabs should have port settings.

I have got a small and short program "SHOWALL.BAT" and it opens device
manager. Marking show hidden devices. Then open "ports" i gets a list over
ports that is asigned som funktions.
For example even if i dont have my GPRS phone in my computer it still shows
that com-port nr 9, 10, 11 is asinged Vodaphone.
The program doesent show anything about com 2, 3, i think one (3) is for my
telephone on the ground network. What 2 is i dont knew.
Anyhow they must have benn asigned something because my bluetooth vas
asigned 4 for inkomming by the screen and 5 for outgoing to program
(navigational).
Thank you for taking your time.
Bets regards Joakim
