how do you close open ports on your pc ? i just ran the
sheilds up test and it says
Results from scan of ports: 0, 21, 23, 25, 79, 80, 110,
113,
119, 135, 139, 143, 389, 443,
445,

1 Ports Open
21 Ports Closed
3 Ports Stealth
---------------------
25 Ports Tested

The port found to be OPEN was: 1025

Ports found to be STEALTH were: 135, 139, 445

Other than what is listed above, all ports are CLOSED.

TruStealth: FAILED - NOT all tested ports were STEALTH,
- NO unsolicited packets were received,
- A PING REPLY (ICMP Echo) WAS RECEIVED.
my big question is for the port 1025. how to close it ?

I think it is a default port opened
when the system start.

Maybe for MSwallet, or Update.

If some intruders know how to use it,
it is very unpleasant surprise for
windows users.

When you are in safe mode, all ports
are closed. No open ports !!

Mine are vary, and more than yours !
16610, 64512, etc
But I do not care as far as my system
still running fast. :)

To close a port, you have to find the service/process/application
using it and disable it or block it with a firewall rule. Run netstat -an
to see if that port is listening or connected. If it is you can use fport
[free download] to trace it to application/executable possibly. Your
firewall should be blocking it however. I would check your firewall rules to
see if there is one that allows port 1025 inbound and delete it or create
one that specifically blocks port 1025 tcp/udp. --- Steve
