Just a question. When using a firewall and a p2p program you naturally make
a small hole in your firewall large enough to allow the p2p to function
correctly and give you maximum throughput, correct? Well, under vista rc1,
when when I turn off the firewall completely, my p2p program continues to
claim that there's a firewall up.
I've tried using various services online to scan and see if anyone can see
my ports and no one can see any of my ports at all. What's funny is that my
laptop, running ubuntu can be seen with lots of ports open and they both
share the same modem and router, so what's going on?
P.S. Even under ubuntu, I run a firewall, but I turned it off just to make
sure I wasn't going crazy.
