portable media device mapped to 2 drives

Why does my portable media device (Sansa e260 mp3 player) map to two separate
drives (I: and F:) when I plug it into one USB port? How do I get it to map
to only one drive?

Does it have software on it that it automatically runs? (U3 for example?)
