I can not view any http websites if they are typed without a specifying
port (eg. www.google.com)

But if i type them with the :80 after it, it works! (eg.
www.google.com:80/) This makes browsing with IE almost impossible
unless every link has :80 in it! How do i fix this? I've reintsalled IE
and repaired windows XP.

Hi Andy,
Is IE assign to use port 80 as the internet port, see the setting in your IE
Browser.
Enable HTTP1/1 in the Advanced Option by going to:
Tools >> Internet Options >> Advanced and Scroll down and select under
HTTP 1.1 Settings
[ ] Use HTTP 1.1 (Select this or Tick it)
[ ] Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy [ untick it]
and check your Firewall not blocking port80.
Hope this helps
