Hi,
I have seen a number of port forwarding utilities, but are these
necessary? is it not possible to setup port forwarding manual?

I assume it is as the utilities I have seen don't run as a service or even
run at all once they have setup the forwarding!

So how do that work what are they changing and can it be done manually?

thanks

Adrian

Hi
I have a service that listens on a tcp port and then makes a connection
out to another PC via another nic in the PC.
If the service is down or the onwards connection is down then I what to be
able to run a batch file that sets up a redirection for that service to
another PC running the same service.

I can achieve this with a very good product http://www.creativebytes.net or
http://www.skylarktechnology.com but as they just seem to be an interface in
to a windows service of some kind I am try to find what they change to
enable port forwarding and if I can do it directly.

Thanks

Adrian
