port 1027 always open

Anyone know why port 1027 is always open and connected to
crl.verisign.net? And how to stop this?

crl.verisign.net is a certificate revocation list
provided by verisign - your browser is probably set to
check for certificate revocation when you access secure
sites.

How are you determining this is always open 24/7?
 
My browser isn't open. From a shell I type netstat -a
It says the port is open, and a connection is established to
218.168.254.9:80
