I need help removing popups. I posted this same question
a while ago and was told to go to a site and download a
program and post its output on a message board yet i
cannot remember the site. Perhaps you could assist me in
finding this site?

Haven't the foggiest as to which site you're referring to. It doesn't
matter, you're at this one now - if you can remember it and the fact that
you've posted here. :-)

Disable Windows Messenger Service (XP, NT, W2K)
http://www.itc.virginia.edu/desktop/docs/messagepopup/

Disable WinPopup (W98 and ME)
Access Add/Remove programs>Windows set-up tab>system tools>details>un-check
WinPopup>OK>Apply>OK out. Re-boot if necessary.

Access IE Options>Security tab>Internet Zone>Custom> Set ActiveX to prompt>
OK>Yes>OK out.

I set Active X as follows:
Prompt
Disable
Disable
Prompt
Prompt

You might also want to Disable (or at least set to Prompt) Active Scripting.
On Web Pages you visit, if you are confident that they are not malicious,
you can click yes to the dialogue boxes that will appear. I usually don't,
but that is your judgment call. Many pages display just fine, even if they
say it might not. If you click a JavaScript applet (button), it may not
work, unless you've permitted Scripting. If the page is displayed, and the
applet doesn't work and thereby displays a JavaScript error on the status
bar, simply enable the scripting and Refresh the page.

Lastly, you can download and install the Google Toolbar with a built in
Pop-up blocker. Freeware, and simple.

If you choose to install the Google Toolbar, I would suggest you decline
using the Advanced options; they are a bit too nosy for my liking. It will
work just fine without enabling them.
