i have a domain with Windows Server 2003 and a 100 pc's with windows XP pro.
Some of the users have roaming profiles. We have being given a moodle box
with software that runs within internet explorer on the client computers.
There are two issues that are bugging us. Firstly how to turn off the popup
blocking in all the profiles on the different client computers, multiple
users log on to a pc and they have to disable the popup blocking, is there
any way even in group policy to switch off the pop up blocking completely.
Secondly, the software when it runs has to load a piece of software for
Thomson NETg, is there anyway that it can be set that users don't have to
click "Always trust software from....." because as they move between
different computers even though they have roaming profiles they are being
continually asked for this.

Hi Conor,

There is nothing in Group Policy to allow you add allowed sites for popup
blocking. You will need a programmer to manually alter the .adm files for
you.

For roaming profiles and software certificates, contact the vendor/publisher
of the software for a site license rather than a per seat license.

Regards.

Conor,

This may be a little late but.... Trusted Sites in IE allow popups. You
also may be able to relax the security in Trusted Sites to prevent your
other problem. I have a domain of 80 PCs. I've tightened the security in
the Internet zone and put business related sites in Trusted Sites via Group
Policy.
